Bigg Boss 19 has returned with a brand-new theme, “Gharwaalon Ki Sarkaar”, and fans are already hooked. Known for its dramatic twists, larger-than-life sets, and fiery contestants, the reality show has once again enlisted top brands and entertainment names to expand its reach across television and OTT platforms.
This season introduces a fresh twist with the “Gharwaalon Ki Sarkaar” theme. Unlike previous years, which revolved around concepts like “Jungle Mein Dangal” and “Dil, Dosti, Drama,” this year the show is set up like a democracy inside the Bigg Boss house. Contestants will take part in political-style debates and decisions in an Assembly Room, making it one of the most engaging formats yet.
Bigg Boss, one of India’s most popular reality shows, is known for reinventing itself each year with unique themes, house designs, and dramatic twists. Over the years, viewers have seen contestants survive in jungles, face chaos in circuses, live in time-warped houses, and even function under democratic-style governance.
Here’s a look at Bigg Boss themes from Season 10 to Season 19:
The current season is centred around a “demo-crazy” parliament-inspired theme, giving contestants and viewers more power in nominations and evictions. The house design resembles India’s Parliament, and an AI-driven system adds further drama by suggesting reports and twists.
This season revolved around fate and destiny, with Bigg Boss himself playing as the supreme authority who could foretell players’ futures. Contestants were constantly challenged to accept or change their fate. The house design mirrored a prehistoric cave and fort, adding a claustrophobic and mysterious feel.
The house was divided into three zones—emotion (Dil), mind (Dimaag), and strength (Dum). Contestants were tested on their emotional resilience, mental sharpness, and physical power, making it one of the most competitive seasons.
Designed by Omung Kumar and Vanitha, the house was turned into a grand circus arena with vibrant colours and carnival elements. Bigg Boss himself became an active participant, behaving like a ringmaster and orchestrating events.
Contestants had to survive in a jungle setup before entering the luxurious main house. The theme highlighted adversity and endurance, with survival tasks adding to the tension.
Reflecting the COVID-19 lockdown era, this season’s house featured futuristic luxuries like BB Spa, BB Mall, and BB Theatre, but contestants had to earn access to them through tasks. The theme mirrored society’s longing for normalcy and privileges.
Known as “Bigg Boss Tedha,” this season’s house was designed like a museum with quirky elements. The tagline suggested a crooked, unpredictable game, which matched the season’s high-voltage drama.
Contestants entered in pairs (spouses, siblings, friends), but soon, the dynamics shifted to Jodis vs Singles. Eventually, even partners had to fight their battles alone, creating unpredictable bonds and conflicts.
This season featured a neighbour house (Padosi House). The main contestants had to spy on neighbours and report back. Successful spies were rewarded, and even romantic pairings between housemates and padosis became part of the twist.
A landmark season, Bigg Boss 10 introduced commoners (Indiawale) into the house for the first time, competing directly against celebrities. This changed the show forever, giving rise to fan-favourite underdog contestants.
Bigg Boss 19 features 12 contestants from diverse fields, including actors, influencers, and entrepreneurs. Within just a few days, the show has already sparked controversies, viral moments, and heated discussions among housemates.
The season premiered on August 24, 2025. Salman Khan is hosting the show for the first three months, after which the makers may introduce guest hosts such as Karan Johar, Farah Khan, or Anil Kapoor to carry the season forward.

Two major brands have stepped in as sponsors this year:
Haier India has partnered as the Associate Sponsor for Bigg Boss 19. The Haier Lumiere Refrigerator and Haier LED TVs are integrated into the Bigg Boss house, showcasing the brand’s innovation-led smart living products. According to NS Satish, President of Haier Appliances India, this collaboration helps bring their technology into a relatable, everyday environment while amplifying brand presence across millions of households.
French automobile giant Citroën India has joined Bigg Boss 19 as part of its “Citroën 2.0 – Shift Into the New” strategy. Acting as the “co-powered by” partner on television and an “associate partner” on OTT (JioCinema), the brand aims to strengthen its emotional connection with Indian audiences. This partnership aligns with Citroën’s focus on making mobility more personal and accessible while expanding its network from Tier I to Tier IV cities.
Bigg Boss remains one of India’s most-watched reality shows, making it a powerful platform for brands to maximize consumer outreach. For Haier and Citroën, the show provides unmatched visibility on both TV and digital platforms, ensuring deeper engagement with young and urban audiences.
