Scott Disick Breaks Social Media Silence, Vows to Distance Himself From Kardashians

We’ve heard quite a few updates about Scott Disick in recent weeks.

But interestingly, none of them have come from Scott Disick.

In the wake of Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s engagement, Disick has kept mum, neither trashing the couple nor offering his congratulations.

However, there’s been a great deal of speculation with regard to how Scott feels about the engagement.

And most people have arrived at the conclusion that he can’t be too thrilled about it.

To be fair, those conclusions are not entirely baseless.

After all, Scott already got called out for mocking Travis and Kourtney’s relationship in private DMs.

So there’s reason to believe that he’s not happy about the engagement news.

The claims that Disick full-blown hates Barker might be exaggerated, but it makes sense that his silence over the past week has been interpreted as tacit disapproval.

Now, however, Scott has broken his silence.

But the folks who are hoping he might finally have something to say about Kravis are sure to be disappointed.

Scott posted a pic of son Reign in his Instagram Story and revealed that the two of them were engaged in a convo about the boy’s school day.

So yeah, Disick still isn’t sounding off about his ex’s engagement, but the claims that he’s suffering a breakdown in the wake of Kourtney’s big news seem to be grossly exaggerated.

The Reign pic comes on the heels of another interesting revelation about Scott’s life.

Earlier this week, Kourtney shared a screenshort of her family’s group chat and fans were surprised to learn that Scott is still a member of the group.

Of course, that shouldn’t come as much of a surpise, given the fact that the Kards have a long history of maintaining close ties ti exes, especially when there are kids involved.

Kourt’s post led the speculation to swing in the other direction, with many fans assuming that Scott and Kourtney are still super close.

But that doesn’t seem to be the case either.

According to a new report from People magazine, Disick has taken steps to distance himself from the Kardashian clan in response to Kourtney’s engagement, which caught him totally by surprise.

“Scott hasn’t really wanted to deal with Travis and Kourtney because he didn’t feel like he’d have to,” the source says. 

“At first, it seemed like it was just a casual relationship to him, nothing serious. So he pretty much put that on mute. Hasn’t been giving it too much brainpower, thinking that eventually, they’d break up,” the insider adds.

“But that didn’t happen and now he’s being forced to deal with it, which is uncomfortable. He knows he has to lean into the discomfort and get past it. He understands that it’s not Kourtney’s job or Travis’s job to make him okay with this.”

Sounds like Scott is taking a pretty mature view of the situation, and importantly, he’s keeping the focus on his kids’ happiness.

“It’s his job, and if he’s going to co-parent with Kourtney, which he has been, he has to process this and make his peace with it,” the source says.

The insider adds that Disick has “distancing himself from the family” for the sake of ensuring that the situation doesn’t become any messier than it needs to be.

“It’s not about them, it’s not about Kourtney. It’s about him needing some time to process this and deal with it on his own, without them,” says the insider.

“He’ll come around soon.”

The insider admits that Scott is not thrilled with Kourtney’s choice of partner, but adds that he’s trying to come to terms with the situation.

“Scott never approved of Kourtney dating Travis. He has struggled with their relationship,” the source says.

“He always had this idea that he and Kourtney would eventually get back together. He was pretty shocked when he found out that she was dating Travis.”

Hopefully, Scott will be able to overcome that shock in the very near future.
