Often, when you’re dealing with an erratic narcissist like Kanye West, their destructive behavior can seem harmless, or even amusing at first.
They eventually reach a point, however, at which their actions present a serious risk to themselves or others.
In the case of Kanye West, it was easy to roll your eyes at his latest antics when he first started attacking Pete Davidson on social media.
But what started as an unexpected celebrity feud has morphed into something much more dangerous thanks to Kanye’s continued threats and harassment.
The situation escalated over the weekend, when Kanye posted a number of memes taunting his ex and her new partner.
At one point, the rapper promised fans that Davidson will never meet his children.
Kanye made things even creepier on Monday by delivering a truck load of roses to Kim’s house and posting a photo of the unsettling gesture on his Instagram page.
West later deleted everything from his account except for a collage of photos of Kim with his kids.
Shortly thereafter, he posted a screenshot of a text that he had received from his estranged wife.
“U are creating a dangerous and scary environment and someone will hurt Pete and this will be all your fault,” she wrote.
“There are dangerous people out there and this is scary and it doesn’t have to be.”
The texts seemed to be in response to various threats West has made toward Davidson, including promises to “beat Pete Davidson’s ass” and have “goons pull up at SNL.”
Kanye captioned the screenshots with what could easily be interpreted as another threat:
“UPON MY WIFE’S REQUEST PLEASE NOBODY DO ANYTHING PHYSICAL TO SKETE IM GOING TO HANDLE THE SITUATION MYSELF,” he wrote.
Kanye might be asking his fans to ease up in their harassment campaign, but intentionally or otherwise, he probably just made the situation worse.
He also posted screenshots in which Kim asks why he’s unable to keep any of their conversations private.
“I’m your number one fan why wouldn’t I tell everyone!!!” West rather creepily replied.
Seemingly in response to photos of Kim and Pete’s first public kiss, Kanye reached out to fans on Monday to thank them for their support.
“THANK YOU GUYS FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF MY FAMILY,” he wrote on February 14.
“MY FAMILY MEANS MORE TO ME THAN ANY OTHER ACCOMPLISHMENT IN LIFE.”
And how are Pete and Kim dealing with all of this unwanted attention?
Well, if a new report from E! News is to be believed, they’re surprisingly unbothered!
“Kim is trying to ignore Kanye’s social media posts and pleas to get back together,” one insider tells the outlet.
“She is really happy right now and is having a lot of fun. She likes where she is at in life and is loving this new chapter,” the source continues
“As long as the kids are safe and taken care of, that’s all that matters to her.”
So Kim is taking it in stride — but she’s still hoping that Kanye will soon move on.
“Kim is hopeful Kanye will be able to move on in the future and accept they aren’t getting back together,” the source goes on.
“She wants him to be happy.”
As for Pete, a second insider claims that the comic “doesn’t really spend time on social media,” and thus is not totally “aware” of all the drama.
“He doesn’t want to get involved or be in the middle of Kim and Kanye,” the second insider says. “He supports Kim with whatever she needs and they try not to focus on it.”
It seems impossible that Pete could possibly be in the dark about all of this drama, but the source says Davidson actually has “sympathy” for Kanye’s plight.
Whatever the case, it seems that West’s interference will not be enough to break these two up.
“Kim is very good at compartmentalizing and not letting these things get to her,” the second source adds.
“She is able to shut it off and ignore when she has to.”
Yeah, we suppose Kim has gotten pretty good at ignoring Kanye’s BS over the years.
Now maybe she can offer lessons to the rest of us!
