Social Media Trends we think will take off in 2024

With the new year approaching, it’s time to consider your 2024 content. Trends can be extremely beneficial to your branding, especially over on TikTok. Social Searching

Social Media is the new search engine for over half of Gen Z, with TikTok coming on top in 2023. Speed and quality are the main appeals for social media searching, so including keywords in your content is essential for 2024 growth.

AI everywhere

We all saw AI take over this year after hitting the scene in 2022, sparking lots of different emotions across the globe. Interest was so high that from 2022 to 2023, topics on learning about AI increased by 550%! 

Generative AI may be a source of hope, but it doesn’t come without risks. Surveys revealed that audiences are not necessarily embracing AI and AI-generated content as much as social marketers are flocking to use it. Either way, AI will still be here next year, so start thinking. Does it feel right? Does it reinforce the brand? Does it work? Before you jump into this trend.

Honesty

Everyone is starting to see through the ‘fake’ influencer selling that has been around for almost a decade! In 2023, we saw the ‘deinfluencing’ trend take off, where influencers started debunking products and brands that were hyped about, that maybe didn’t work! Well, that’s not going anywhere next year! We are going to see a huge rise in more authentic content and reviews from brands and influencers.

UGC

User-generated content has been on the rise for a few years now, but 2024 is when we’ll see the peak of it. Simon Harwood said:

The success of ‘Creator Packaged Goods’ will encourage more creator-led enterprises and lead to collaborations with legacy brands and in new verticals ripe for disruption, including the service sector.”

Threads

Now, we know this might be a little shocking, but Threads isn’t dead! It’s actually on the rise –  its popularity is growing, and communities seem to be forming, though its audience is still niche, mostly semi-professional and creative.

With X still being a huge alternative, we see Threads used for recycled trends and meme content.
