For most of her adult life, Britney Spears wasn’t able to make her own decisions.
On matters regarding everything from her career to the raising of her two sons, Britney was forced to defer to her father and those whom he had hired to supervise her conservatorship.
These days, at age 40, Britney is finally a free woman.
And she’s making up for lost time in a major way.
Britney got engaged to Sam Asghari in September, and the couple has spent the past few months traveling the world.
In the last few weeks alone, Spears and Asghari went to Hawaii, Las Vegas, and French Polynesia.
It seems that last destination — where the couple celebrated Sam’s 28th birthday — really made an impression on Brit.
She revisited the islands in her mind this week, posting some new pics from the trip on Instagram.
Once again, fans were treated to some topless Britney photos, but believe it or not, it’s the singer’s caption that really has social media buzzing.
“Planning on having babies in Polynesia!!!!!!” the singer wrote.
Now, if you’ve been following Brit’s page for a while, then we probably don’t need to tell you that this is not the first time she’s talked about starting a family with Asghari.
“I’m thinking about having another baby!!!” she wrote in an Instagram Story back in November.
Of course, until recently, Spears didn’t have the freedom to speak her mind on social media or to make her own decisions about her body.
Britney shocked the world back in June when she revealed in court testimony that she was forced to use an IUD against her will.
“I would like to progressively move forward and I want to have the real deal. I want to be able to get married and have a baby,” the singer said under oath.
“I have an [IUD] inside of myself so I don’t get pregnant. They don’t want me to have children — any more children.”
Thankfully, these days, Britney has regained her independence after a lengthy and frequently ugly court battle.
The pop icon now has the freedom to decide her own future, and we expect that a pregnancy announcement is not far off.
Of course, the trauma of her conservatorship remains with Britney, and sadly, that will likely always be the case.
During her recent trip to Las Vegas, Brit lamented that despite all the time she’d spent in the city in the past, she’d never really experienced all that it had to offer before.
That’s because the Spears family was living the high life on Britney’s money, while she was forced to return to her hotel room immeditately after performing.
Fortunately, Brit is currently doing her best to transform a negative situation into something positive.
In recent social media posts, Britney has vowed to help free others who have been trapped in unjust conservatorships.
It’s unclear exactly what steps she’s planning to take, but those closest to the mother of two have indicated that she might set up a legal fund to assist others who have found themselves unfairly constrained by their own families.
“Those around her have been suggesting that she start a charity, or some type of organization, to do this.” a source close to the situation tells Hollywood Life.
“Everyone knows that, with what she went through, she has the power to bring change to the world.”
It would be easy for someone in Britney’s situation to get hung up on the pain of the past.
But instead, it sounds like she and Sam are laser-focused on creating a brighter future.
