Coronavirus Delta Plus Variant Symptoms, Covid-19 Cases in India Live Updates: After three long months of the raging second wave of coronavirus infections that saw an unprecedented scale of deaths and widespread devastation, India is slowly limping back to normalcy. After 102 days, India on Tuesday reported under 40,000 cases. At 907, the Covid death tally also remained under the 1,000-mark. The promising trend of recovering outnumbering the infections is also continuing. There are around 5.5 lakh active cases in India right now.

Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has, however, once against said that the second wave of the coronavirus is ‘not over’ in India. Though cases have come down significantly, the minister said that India’s experience with the virus shows that it can return with greater ferocity once we let our guard down.

In terms of the national vaccination tracker, after the slump on Sunday that saw just 17,52921 Covid jabs, the situation improved on Monday with a little over 50,000 daily inoculations. However, there are reports from record-making Madhya Pradesh about some shocking discrepancies such as more than one Covid jab registered on one Aadhaar number. In related news, it seems the future will see a cocktail of vaccines from different pharma companies as a new SOP. An Oxford Study has said that those given the two doses of AstraZeneca and Pfizer Covid vaccines had a greater degree of immunity against coronavirus infections.

Meanwhile, after a flip-flop, the Uttarakhand government has decided to postpone the Char Dham Yatra. This came after the Uttarakhand High Court in a sharp observation had remarked that inviting the pilgrims right now would mean another disaster. Health experts have repeatedly said that the Kumbh 2021 organised in Haridwar was a super-spreader that was responsible for the huge number of cases and deaths during the second Covid wave.

In a key order, the Supreme Court has ordered the Narendra Modi government to provide dry ration to the thousands of migrant workers till the situation improves. The Apex Court has also ordered the Centre and the state government of making all arrangements to implement ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ scheme.

On Monday, the Narendra Modi government announced a fresh financial stimulus that would put India back on the path of economic recovery. From Rs 1.1 lakh crore credit guarantee scheme to a special package for the public health infrastructure, the new relief measure shows that India is now looking forward to the revival of the economy. One of the key announcements by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was Rs 23,000 crore for public healthcare. The relief measure has been designed with a special focus on the children. With the probable third wave impacting the kids more, the timely package will look at setting up paediatric care facilities across India.

Meanwhile, scientists across India are trying to understand the severity of the Delta Plus variant. While some say that it may not be that infectious in comparison with the Delta variant, others say that more research is required. In other news, the Mumbai Sero Survey has thrown up shocking findings. The survey says that more than half the kids have already been exposed to the coronavirus.
