One of the most annoying things in life is trying to look good when there are so many fashion rules. While I agree that it’s important to have an aesthetic sense, you also need to be comfortable with your looks and not let others influence your preferences too much. That’s why today, I’m going to share with you my 5 tips on how to be fashionable without making yourself miserable at the same time!

1) Basic Style Rules

Fashion is all about rules. Some of them are written down and others are not, but you’d be surprised how many fashion rules there actually are—especially when it comes to dressing for your shape.

But, there’s no reason to fear fashion rules; they exist because they work! Even if you disagree with some or all of them, it’s still important to know what they are so that you can make informed decisions on your clothing choices.

Here are five basic style rules every woman should follow: 1) Wear vertical stripes only if you have an hourglass figure.  2) Avoid horizontal stripes at all costs.  3) Stay away from high-contrast patterns like plaid and leopard print unless you want to look bigger than you really are.  4) Make sure your skirt hits right above (or just below) your knee, especially if you have short legs.  5) Never wear too much jewellery; choose one piece (necklace, bracelet, earrings), maybe two tops (earrings + necklace).

Anything more than that will overwhelm most figures—and take away from whatever outfit piece stands out as being most eye-catching. Follow these tips and watch as people begin asking where in the world did you get those fabulous clothes?

2) Organising Your Closet

You probably have good intentions when it comes to dressing well. But if you’re like most women, you haven’t allocated time in your day to dedicate to your closet—and maybe it shows.

A good place to start is by simply evaluating what you already have and organising everything so that everything is easy to find (like bags in shoe boxes). The more organised your wardrobe, and thus your life, is, the easier it will be when deciding on an outfit in the morning.

The first step is recognizing how much work needs to be done before you can actually get dressed…and then doing it!  It might feel like a lot of work at first, but once you organise your closet, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner. It may take some time to accomplish, but soon enough all of those piles of clothes will be folded neatly into drawers or hung up in closets with style. To make sure everything is stylishly kept together with no worries about having too many colours clashing together or wearing something that doesn’t fit properly or is out of date – wear clothes from last season as long as they are still fitting properly and look great! This also goes for shoes; save them until next year unless they are falling apart – nobody wants to see someone wearing their boots with heels sticking out.

3) Mixing Patterns

Mixing patterns can be tough to pull off, but with some clever pairings, you can make it work. Stick to bold combinations rather than small, detailed prints and bolder colour combinations. If you’re not sure where to start, check out your favourite fashion blogs for inspiration or even look at how celebrities mix patterns on red carpets.

It’s also important to know your body type and dress accordingly so that you don’t feel self-conscious about what you’re wearing. And remember: A little extra fashion risk may pay off big time!  After all, confidence is one of our most fashionable accessories.

Not including source information (byline) in an online media piece or having only minimal information will often lead to rejection by professional publications (for example, digital publications like The Huffington Post). In many cases, if you include an author’s name, photo (or avatar), bio, and a short author profile sentence with their credentials then there is less chance of being rejected.

4) Accessories

accessories are key to looking your best. For example, take a look at my handbag—it goes with almost everything I wear and keeps all of my stuff in one place. By choosing accessories that work with your lifestyle, you can have fashion without clutter (and help keep you organised).

Here are some accessory basics that every girl should have: 1) sunglasses; 2) black flats; 3) your favourite little black dress; 4) pearls or diamond earrings; 5) leather gloves (not just cold weather); 6) flattering cocktail dresses. Keep reading and you’ll learn how to choose accessories so they fit into your lifestyle—without being too matchy-matchy or overpowering—and give you that just-right look every time.  1. Sunglasses – Every woman needs a pair of stylish shades that suit her face shape and colouring, whether it’s tortoiseshell, big round frames or bright red plastic. The most important thing is to get them fitted properly—ask an optician about getting prescription lenses if needed. Once you know what works for you, pick up several pairs so you always have one on hand when needed (especially important if your glasses tend to be more on-trend than functional).

To keep things stylish yet practical, opt for basic colours like black or brown since these will go with any outfit. And don’t forget about clear ones in case it’s sunny out! They’re great for making sure makeup stays intact during outdoor activities such as gardening or sports such as golf and tennis!

5) How to Dress up Every Day

Every girl should have at least three complete outfits in her closet. These outfits should be chosen specifically to complement your lifestyle, and they can range from plain t-shirts to stylish cocktail dresses depending on how you want to spend your day. Make sure that each outfit coordinates with either other pieces of clothing you already own or items you plan on purchasing at some point.

If you don’t want to spend money buying new clothes, pay attention when you’re shopping so that you can match colours and patterns between all of your favourite tops, bottoms, and accessories. This is a good way to upgrade your wardrobe without spending an arm and a leg. Once you start thinking about fashion as more than just what you wear, but also as part of your lifestyle, it will become much easier to dress up every day.
