On the latest episode of 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days, the secret was out.
Alina Kasha feared that what she’d hidden from Caleb Greenwood could undo their romance.
A lot has happened since this filmed, including Alina’s racism scandal, and we don’t know how this season ends.
After all of the delays, secrets, and more … are Alina and Caleb still together?
Caleb Greenwood and Alina Kasha became online friends as teens, and then lost touch for many years.
As adults, they reconnected. This time, sparks were flying between them.
With thirteen years of friendship under their belts, they decided to take their long-distance romance to the next level by meeting in person.
Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Caleb and Alina met up in Turkey, rather than in Russia or the United States.
Their first meeting had its ups and downs.
Caleb has never dated a little person before Alina, and while he navigated the differences of that, Alina was left wondering if she’d be getting any in-person affection.
That issue continued back in their hotel room, when Caleb passed out in their bed while Alina was washing her face.
Of course, Caleb had just been on a lengthy international flight and felt kind of gross.
Still, when someone flies all the way to see you and falls asleep in your bed without even a kiss, it’s hard to not take that personally.
Alina and Caleb did end up having their first kiss, however, once Caleb was well rested (and clean).
In fact, some shady editing on the part of the show subjected viewers to an extended look at the two making out.
Seeing them kiss was great. Extending the scene for more than two minutes was a deliberate ploy to make viewers uncomfortable.
Off screen, Alina and Caleb took things even further.
They had sex, which involved some adjustments on Caleb’s part as he figured out what was comfortable and possible for Alina.
While this was a wonderful milestone in their relationship, it also meant that Alina was even more afraid of losing him.
Alina had been harboring a secret from Caleb that she feared could drive him away.
She kept trying to work herself up to telling him, only to chicken out.
Elijah promised that, if Alina didn’t tell Caleb herself, Elijah would. In a manner of speaking, that’s what he did.
The trio had dinner before Elijah’s return to Russia, where they played a game of Never Have I Ever.
This is how we learned that Caleb has had sex with over 100 women.
That’s not truly shocking for a 28-year-old single man who is hot, fit, and well-traveled, but it’s not a low number.
Elijah used the game to reveal that Alina had a secret that she was keeping from Caleb.
That night, she told him — that she’d still been living with her ex, and that he wasn’t actually her ex yet when she and Caleb began talking.
It was good to have that out in the open, but Caleb did use that to justify dragging his heels on committing to Alina any further.
That’s as far as the show has taken us as of Season 5, Episode 7. For more, we turn to social media.
Caleb and Alina continue to follow each other, which is a decent clue that they’re still on good terms.
They have continued to share throwback photos as new episodes come out, even sharing messages with heart emojis about their memories together.
Caleb even shared a photo of him sporting an “I Go Russia” shirt plastered across his broad, defined chest.
Entertainingly, Julia Trubkina — who infamously said that line — commented.
So did Alina, who simply found the photo “interesting.” Extremely ambiguous, but they’re under NDA.
Speaking of social media, we did mention Alina’s racism scandal.
In 2014 and 2015, she posted racist attempts at “humor,” including the use of the racial slur, “n—a.”
Writing it both with Gs and with the letter Q, these posts brought any enthusiasm for Alina’s arc on the show to a grinding halt.
Alina initially denied that the posts were real, only to later backtrack and issue an apology.
While it is believable that a Russian woman might not have understood the n-word’s true history in 2015, that doesn’t make this okay.
It is certainly not the place of white 90 Day Fiance fans to try to “forgive” Alina or offer her “grace” at this time, because her actions did not target us.
The continuing social media activity between Caleb and Alina is a promising sign that they’re either still together or are very convincing actors.
It could be the case that they are actively together now, but a more likely guess is that they will continue their journey on the franchise.
These two have a lot of potential as a recurring couple, but only if they stay together.
